Scabies describes a medical condition, where your skin is infected by a parasite. A mite called Sarcoptes scabies is responsible for this skin infection. The name of the mite itself gives you the idea of the type of infection it can result into. These little creepy monsters can even do worst, if stayed on the skin untreated, for a longer period of time. The mites lay their eggs by making burrows inside the surface of your skin and meanwhile create a severe bacterial infection on the site. This infection can lead to a weak immune system.
The symptoms are witnessed after 30 days and the initial period is often symptom less. It is contagious in nature and can easily spread from one infected individual to another. The patient needs to be under proper care and the other members of the family should avoid any kind of direct contact with the patient. These infections are more rampant in institutional settings.
