This hair most commonly occurs in curly hair people and mostly everybody evolved ingrown hair once in a lifetime. They are painful enough and the annoying part is to get rid of ingrown hair. They are exactly not a pimple neither hives, they are characterized by a pimple like red bump which grows inside rather than outside the skin.

1.) Use A Sharp Device

Use a sharp device like scissors, tweezers, and rotatable medical device to pull out the ingrown hair from the surface of the skin. First use the warm compress that will bring out the hair to the surface. Don’t try to dig the surface of the skin if you can’t easily pull out the hair otherwise, you will hurt yourself. Try to pull out the end of the ingrown hair from the skin surface not the whole strand of the ingrown hair. Do this method patiently, it will take some time to coax the ingrown hair otherwise you can damage your skin.

You can use tweezers, either pointed or flat tipped tweezers to get rid of ingrown hair. Pointed tweezers will cause less damaged to the skin. Another option that is available in the market is a rotatable medical device for ingrown hair, which doesn’t create any damage to the skin and the skin surrounding.

2.) Make and Use Sugar Scrub

Sugar scrub is very effective to get rid of ingrown hair naturally. This is the great scrub that exfoliates the skin, removes dead cells and helps the ingrown hair to come out the skin. Sugar scrubs remove the dead skin which blocks the ingrown hair from inside the skin and the hair grow inside rather than outside of the skin. Mix a half a cup of sugar grains with the half cup of extra virgin olive oil or jojoba oil. Put 10 drops of tea tree oil and lavender essential oil in the mixture. It also reduces the burning, redness, inflammation and pain, the most common sign of ingrown hair. The anti-inflammatory properties of aspirin reduce the swelling, fight with inflammation and also cure the mild infection in the body. Salicylic acid in the aspirin also helps in removing the dead skin which becomes a blockage that cause the hair to grow inside.

To get rid of ingrown hair, Mix two tablespoon of aspirin powder in one teaspoon of warm water. Add one teaspoon of honey in the mixture of aspirin and apply it on the affected area. Leave it for 20 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water and gently pat the skin dry. You can do this remedy once or twice in the week if needed.

Note: Do not try this remedy if you have extremely sensitive skin.

4.) Make An Baking Soda

Baking soda is an inexpensive treatment to get rid of ingrown hair. It has anti-inflammatory properties and soothing effects which make it a good option for acne, and pimple. Baking soda also reduces the itching, redness, and act as natural exfoliator. It reduces the irritation and itching caused by ingrown hair. To get rid of ingrown hair, you can mix one tablespoon of baking soda with a cup of water. Use a cotton ball and dip the ball into the mixture, apply it on the affected areas and leave it for five minutes. Rinse the area with cold water. Do this once or twice in a week.

You can make a homemade scrub of baking soda with one teaspoon of baking soda and one teaspoon of oatmeal. Mix both the ingredient with one tablespoon of water. Apply this mixture on the skin and leave it not more than 5 minutes, rinse it with lukewarm water and do this once or twice in a week if needed.

5.) Take Help From Tea Tree Oil

Ingrown hair can also be the cause of the infection and bacteria that is found on our razor blade and when you scratch those itchy bumps. Tea tree oil is very effective and powerful cure to get rid of ingrown hair. Tea tree oil has many properties like anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties to get rid of ingrown hair and also prevent infection.

Clean the area with anti-bacterial soap. Add a few drops of tea tree oil in the clean water. Apply the mixture on the affected area, leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse it off. Do this twice in a day to cure ingrown hair. Try another method, mix the tea tree oil with olive oil and apply it on the affected area. Massage gently for 10 minutes, then wash it with warm water.

6.) Use The Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera is another effective herbal remedy to cure ingrown hair and razor bump. Take a fresh Aloe Vera gel or you can purchase it from your nearby store. Apply the Aloe Vera on the affected area, which gives use cool sensation and fasten the healing process. 9.) Use Apple Cider Vinegar

The anti-inflammatory properties present in apple cider vinegar eases the pain and discomfort caused by ingrown hair. It reduces the itching and destroys the bacteria, which further minimizes the risk of infection. Many people have sensitive skin so its better to use diluted apple cider vinegar.

All you need to do is mix equal amounts of water and apple cider vinegar. Dip a cotton ball in this solution and place it on the ingrown hair. After the skin absorbs apple cider vinegar completely, wash the area with warm water. Use apple cider vinegar two times a day to speed up the healing process.

10.) Apply The Castor Oil

This is one of the most effective remedy to treat ingrown hair naturally. Castor oil opens the skin pores and releases the pressure and puss. This is beneficial for ingrown hair on face, arms, leg and pubic hair.

All you need to do is soak a cotton ball in castor oil. Place the cotton ball on the ingrown hair. Make sure the area is coated with a thick layer of castor oil. After 15 to 20 minutes wash the area with water. Apply castor oil 3 to 4 times a day to accelerate the healing process.
